Haryana State Energy Conservation Award for Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh
Faridabad: Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh, has won the Haryana State Energy Conservation Award set by the Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) for its work on promoting the usage of renewable energy on its campus. Principal Dr Krishan Kant Gupta who received the award from Ranjeet Singh, the Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Haryana, recently at a function held at Chandigarh said it was a matter of pride as the efforts of the institution was recognised. He said while the drive to conserve and preserve the non-renewable energy sources would continue, it was the result of the combined efforts of the staff members, students and the management of the college.
Inter-varsity yoga contest
Hisar: Students of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, have performed well in the inter-university yoga competition organised at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar, Orissa. The winning team was accorded a warm welcome on its arrival at the university. Vice-Chancellor Prof Baldev Raj Kamboj congratulated the winning team and yoga instructor Basant Kumar and team manager and wished them a bright future. Basant Kumar informed that teams from 160 universities across the country had participated in the competition. Promila, Devi, Anushka, Pooja, Madhu Verma, Raveena participated in the girls’ team and got the team first place. In the individual event, Anushka brought laurels to the university by getting a bronze medal.
