Ensure health check-up of every resident, DC directs officials in Rohtak

To ensure the early detection and treatment of diseases, Rohtak Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta has directed the officials of the Health Department to prepare a comprehensive plan for conducting health check-ups of every resident in the district.

During a meeting of the District Permanent Committee of PC and PNDT held to improve the sex ratio, it was decided that continuous monitoring of all registered ultrasound centres would be ensured.

In villages with low sex ratio, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and gram secretaries will work together for positive results.

Gupta reviewed the implementation of various programmes and schemes with officials of the Health Department, Women and Child Development Department and Education Department on Saturday.

He instructed health officials to prepare a plan to ensure health check-up of all residents in every village and ward of the district.

The DC emphasised that pregnant women, especially those suffering from anaemia, require special attention regarding diet, medical check-ups and treatment. He directed that such women must be re-examined after 14 days to ensure improvement in haemoglobin levels.

“If no improvement is found, the cause must be identified and treatment provided. Continuous monitoring and record-keeping of these cases must be ensured,” he maintained.

The Women and Child Development Department was instructed to create awareness among pregnant women about anemia prevention and educating them about calcium and iron-folic acid intake.

The DC stated that the health centres should collect samples and conduct all necessary tests, ensuring that reports were delivered to the residents.

He said the residents living in slum and high-risk areas should be provided quality health facilities.

Gupta also emphasised the importance of mental health and said that the residents suffering from stress or mental illness could receive free counseling by calling the Health Department’s toll-free number 8295474838.

He said to improve the district’s sex ratio, it must be ensured that ultrasound centres were regularly monitored and it should be ensured that banned medicines were not sold in medical stores.
