“It must also be ensured that no person throws garbage in open areas. Under the Haryana Shehar Swachhta campaign, specific responsibilities have been assigned to officers to keep the cities clean. The officers concerned must conduct regular monitoring of cleanliness in the areas allotted to them,” he said.

The Deputy Commissioner, along with Municipal Commissioner Dr Anand Kumar Sharma and Additional Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar, conducted surprise inspections at several sites to check the garbage lifting facility in the city.

Gupta said senior district officials have been allotted urban and rural areas where they will not only accelerate the cleanliness drive but also ensure the availability and maintenance of facilities like water drainage, drinking water supply, road safety and other essential services.

Municipal Commissioner Dr Anand Sharma has been appointed overall in-charge for urban areas, while the local Zila Parishad CEO Pradeep Kaushik will be the overall in-charge for rural areas. Rohtak ADC Narendra Kumar has been allotted Municipal Corporation wards 2, 3, 4, 16 and 17.

Similarly, different officials have been appointed nodal officers for specific wards and other areas of the district.

“The nodal officers must carry out field visits in their allotted areas to monitor cleanliness and other civic facilities. The SDMs of Rohtak, Meham and Sampla must check at least one municipal ward and one village daily. All departments and agencies have been directed to attach photos with their daily reports. Strict action will be taken against any officers found negligent,” the DC asserted.
