PK Das, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Power Department, said that ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the people of the state was the priority of the government during the present time of changing seasons.
He said that 10,894 MW was consumed during the summer in the state last year. At present, 12,187 MW was available. Das was addressing a state-level meeting held at Shakti Bhawan, Panchkula, with all Managing Directors and Engineer Groups of Electricity.
Das gave directions regarding pre-diagnosis of the problems related to electricity supply during the coming summer. He said that the problem of overloaded transfers should be immediately addressed and the 11 kV substation and low tension power lines should be repaired so that even during the summer, uninterrupted power supply could be ensured.
He said that to solve the problem, the long feeder should be divided and converted into smaller ones. The capacitor bank should be operated smoothly at all stations. If the 11 kV line was tripping frequently, the XEN concerned should find out the reasons and report the same to the Superintending Engineer (SE) concerned, added Das.
He directed the officers of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL) and the SEs of discoms to inspect the substations in their areas immediately and remove flaws to ensure proper power supply during the summer and monsoon seasons.
