Entry of heavy vehicles to be banned for I-Day rehearsals

All Delhi borders with Gurugram would be sealed from 5 pm on August 12 to 12 pm on August 13 for the rehearsal of Independence Day and the entry of heavy vehicles would be banned as well.
Similarly, the entry of heavy vehicles would be banned on all Delhi borders from 5 pm on August 14 to 12 pm on August 15. To deal with traffic blockades, the Gurugram traffic police has prepared a diversion chart for vehicles through different routes.
Deputy Commissioner Of Police (DCP), Traffic, Virender Vij informed the same in a meeting to traffic police officials on Friday here. During the meeting, he ensured that 15 traffic nakas would be set up by the traffic police in connection with the preparations for Independence Day.
According to the traffic police, there would be no restriction on vehicles carrying essential items like milk, fruits, vegetables, or vehicles like ambulance, fire brigade etc while going towards Delhi.
“Traffic police personnel’s will be present at all the 15 traffic nakas in Gurugram district at various places during day and night. Around 240 traffic officials and employees would be present at the nakas, including six traffic inspectors, 36 zonal officers and other traffic employees. Drivers are appealed to follow the advisory issued by the traffic police. During this time, leave home only when necessary,” said Vij.
