Ex-MLA takes stock of crop losses in Rewari village
Congress national secretary and former MLA Chiranjeev Rao on Sunday visited various villages of the district to take stock of the losses of wheat and mustard crops caused by hailstorm coupled with rain recently.
He interacted with the distressed farmers who shared their plight with him. They urged the Congress leader to flag their issue prominently to mount pressure on the state government so that it could provide them adequate financial relief.
Rao later demanded the state government to provide financial relief of Rs 50,000 per acre to the distressed farmers to bail them out of the crisis. “Wheat and mustard crops have suffered extensive damage due to hailstorm. I will soon meet Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in this respect,” he added.
The Congress leader visited Malahera, Dhakia, Khatavali, Rozka, Jeetpura, Titarpur, Khaliyawas and Meerpur villages.
