The Rohtak Police have introduced an innovative initiative aimed at strengthening public trust and enhancing transparency in policing. As part of this effort, a QR code-based feedback system has been launched across all police stations and posts in the district, allowing citizens to share their feedback on police functioning. The initiative is also being viewed as a step toward improving the public image of the Haryana Police.

Rohtak Superintendent of Police (SP) Surender Singh Bhoria said the QR code system was a digital feedback mechanism. It allowed citizens to scan a QR code displayed at every police station and post in the district to share their experiences and feedback about the police functioning and services.

What is the objective of this system?

The main objective of the QR code system is to understand the public’s experience when they visit police stations, including the behaviour of police personnel, the transparency of the process, the cleanliness and atmosphere on the premises, and the overall functioning of the police. It aims at building public trust, promote transparency, and make policing more citizen friendly.

How will this system work?

When a complainant scans the QR code with a mobile phone, they are directed to a digital feedback form. They first select the police station or post they visited, then enter their name, mobile number and the date of their complaint. After that, they choose the type of complaint, such as cybercrime, domestic violence, theft, road accident, property dispute, crime against women, murder, attempt to murder, permission regarding any festival or other issues, and respond to a set of questions about their experience and satisfaction with the police services.

What is the rating concept through the QR system?

The feedback form contains 12 options, where the complainant would have to choose one of the options. The complainants rate their experience on various parametres such as the cleanliness of the station, politeness of officers, transparency of proceedings, and ease of the process using a scale from 1 to 5, where 1 means poor or non-transparent, and 5 means excellent or highly transparent.

What will be done after gathering feedback?

Once the feedback is submitted, it is received by the Feedback Cell at the Superintendent of Police’s office. The feedback is reviewed promptly, and for verification, the officials from the cell contact the person who submitted it. Based on the responses and suggestions received, appropriate action will be taken to address issues and improve police functioning. All processes will be conducted under the supervision of Rohtak Superintendent of Police.
