On the complaint of the principal of a private senior secondary school, a case of preparing fake school-leaving certificate (SLC) was registered on Tuesday at City police station at Gohana in the district against an unidentified person.
In his complaint to the police, Jaiveer Singh, principal of Sher Singh Senior Secondary School, Gohana, has stated that he received an envelope on Monday by post.
The sender, a resident of Titoli village in Rohtak district and serving as clerk in a private school at Gohana, had enclosed photocopies of SLCs issued by the school with his signature.
The principal further stated that the sender had also mentioned that the original copies of these SLCs had been submitted in the office of Haryana Board of School Education by these students.
When these SLCs carrying the photos and names of the students were compared with the school record, these were found to be fake.
The sender has also mentioned that there could be a large number of such fake SLCs for Classes IX and XI and such fake SLCs could be verified from the enrolment branch of the board.
Investigating officer R Sibbal said that on the complaint of the principal, a case has been registered at the police station. The principal has also handed over the copies of the letter and of the SLCs to the police for investigation in the case.
