Faridabad gets 181 new polling stations

The Election Commission has approved the District Election Office’s proposal for adding 181 new polling stations in the six Assembly segments of the district, taking the total from 1,469 to 1,650.
A senior district official said this comes as part of measures taken in view of the rise in the number of voters in particular areas as per the revised voters list.
The district has six Assembly segments — Faridabad, Badkhal, NIT, Tigaon, Ballabhgarh and Prithla. In Prithla segment, the number of booths have gone up to 229 after the addition of 15 new stations. The NIT and Badkhal constituencies have also got 46 and 27 new stations, taking their total to 288 and 283, respectively.
As many as 34 polling stations have been added in Ballabhgarh and 25 in Faridabad. The number of booths in the Tigaon segment has also goes up from 311 to 345, claimed officials. Several of the booths have been merged or transferred as part of the exercise to provide or enhance the voting facility.
