Faridabad Mini-Secretariat evacuated after hoax bomb threat
A hoax bomb threat was sent to the official mail of Faridabad Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh Yadav on Thursday. Information about a bomb at the Mini-Secretariat, located in Sector 12, Faridabad, was received, along with a religious slogan.
Security agencies immediately became alert after receiving the mail and the building was evacuated. After the evacuation, a search was conducted, revealing the threat to be a hoax.
The threat mail was received around 7.30am today, after which the police teams along with bomb disposal squad, sniffer dog squad, crime team, cyber staff started a search operation. Around 3:30pm, the administration declared it a hoax.
“The security agencies were informed and after a long search operation, the threat turned out to be a hoax. The cyber police started investigation about that email after registering an FIR. Not just our office, but our entire city is safe anyway. The security agencies are investigating thoroughly and such mischievous elements will not be spared,” said DC Yadav.
Inspector Sunil Kumar, SHO of Central Police Station, confirmed that no suspicious object was found during the search.
