Faridabad: Unauthorised arms manufacturing unit raided, two arrested

The crime branch of the local police has raided an illegal arms manufacturing unit and arrested two persons. Officials seized seven countrymade revolvers and equipment used in the manufacturing of weapons from them.
A police spokesperson said the racket came to light after officials raided a spot in the industrial area of Dabua Colony here on Saturday night after receiving information from the sources about it. He said the accused, identified as Anuj Kumar (24) and Saurabh Kumar (33), failed to produce any licence or permission from the department
concerned.
The police seized material for manufactures of the arms, including 14 pistol slides, 13 half-built slides, slide material, pistol grip handles, cutter blade, barrel, grinder machine, welding machine, iron file, iron key, iron spray, lathe machine and a drilling machine, from the workshop located in the area.
The accused told the police that they were employed by Shashi, hailing from Munger district of Bihar, to work here, for which he charged of Rs 2,000 per item. While both the accused had been taken on police remand for eight days for further interrogation, a hunt had been launched to nab the owner of the workshop, said the police official.
