Cooperation Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma has said Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) are being expanded on a larger scale. Interacting with the media in Narnaul here on Friday, he said as per the new policy, PACS would be able to set up Common Service Centres (CSCs), Jan Aushadhi Kendras, and petrol stations to increase their income and offer better services to farmers and the public. The move would further strengthen PACS and help them become self-reliant.
He said through cooperatives, employment opportunities would be created in rural areas, which would empower local communities. “The state government is actively advancing Digital India campaign, and nearly 70% of computerisation has been completed in all PACS across the state,” he said.
Earlier, listening to public grievances at a meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee at Panchayat Bhawan, he emphasised that new infrastructure projects should be executed with a 100-year vision to ensure long-term sustainability and prevent recurring issues.
The minister directed officials to focus on new roads, water supply, sewer pipelines, and electrical infrastructure. He instructed the District Municipal Commissioner to conduct visits to municipal councils and committees and prepare a report to ensure urban residents did not face avoidable hardships.
