Farmers’ body launches campaign against BJP in Barwala segment
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha, Hisar, has deployed its teams across the Barwala Assembly constituency to campaign against the ruling BJP in the segment today.
The farmers under the banner of SKM held a meeting in Kharar village of the Barwala segment today which was jointly chaired by Suresh Pradhan and Subhash Balmiki. The members unanimously decided that they would work to ensure defeat of the BJP and its allies.
Pradhan informed that they had already taken a decision to mobilise the electorate against the BJP. “It is necessary to dislodge the BJP from power at any cost. We have not forgotten the martyrdom of our 750 farmers. This government headed by the BJP had unleashed atrocities on the farmers when we were going to Delhi as the government put nails on the roads, barbed wires were drawn and police resorted to lathi-charge and water cannons and even firing on the farmers,” he said.
The leader urged farmers and labourers to not to get misled by the BJP. “The BJP-RSS members have been trying to befool people by resorting to various divisive tactics. We have to work wisely and not get trapped in any of their tricks. This time we will remove them from power in Haryana. The leaders of the farmers’ organisation will not share the stage of any party. But we will use our vote wisely”, said the SKM leader Shardanand Rajli.
Rajli said they had formed teams of farmers who were dispatched to villages to run a public campaign to ensure defeat of the BJP. Nukkad and public meetings would be held in every village, he informed. The BJP has fielded deputy speaker Ranbir Gangwa from Barwala Assembly segment. Gangwa had come into confrontation with activists during the farmers agitation and even an FIR was registered against some farmer activists on the charges of assaulting the vehicle of Gangwa.
