In a statement, sabha secretary Sumit Dalal said protests were organised across the country against the free farm-trade agreements being imposed on India by the US.

Addressing the participants, Kisan Sabha national vice-president Inderjit Singh stated that an anti-India alliance had been forged between PM Narendra Modi and Trump.

Wearing symbolic chains of slavery, farmers and workers marched to the DC's office. Women also actively participated in the protest.

The protesters also opposed the agreements being made in the dairy sector, stating that it would destroy Indian farmers and workers.

The farmers also demanded government's guarantee on procurement of crops at MSP, withdrawal of the Smart meter scheme and new agricultural marketing policy.
