Our fields are waterlogged following the recent spell of rain, which is damaging the standing wheat crop in our and neighbouring villages. Mohit Hooda, farmer, Rurki village

“Our fields are waterlogged following the recent spell of rain, which is damaging the standing wheat crop in our village as well as the neighbouring villages,” says Mohit Hooda, a young farmer of Rurki village in Rohtak district.

Amarjeet, Surender and Dalel Dhaka of Sundana village in the district point out that water has accumulated in around 300 acres of land, due to which wheat crop is getting damaged. The farmers have demanded a special girdawari to assess the damage caused to their crop and then suitable compensation.
