Hisar, March 3
The Directorate of Extension Education of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) organised a one-day training session for farmers on the topic “Utility of mineral mixture in animal feed” under its Farmer First Programme (FFP). A university spokesperson said the farmers from Payal and Chirod villages of the district participated in the session.
Dr Ashok Godara, principal investigator of the FFP, said the objective of the session was to provide information to cattle farmers about maintaining the health of their animals and increasing milk production so that their incomes could be increased.
FFP is an initiative of the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), which addresses complex and diverse issues related to small farmers by enhancing farmer-scientist interface to improve production and productivity.
Dr Godara said special emphasis is given on production management in agriculture, including resource management, climate resilient agriculture, storage, market, supply chain, value chain, innovation, information system, etc. During the session, animal nutrition scientist Dr Sajjan Sihag told farmers about balanced diet for animals.
