Farmers leave for Khanauri border

Around 100 farmers under the banner of Bharatiya Kisan Naujawan Union left for the Khanauri border to consolidate the ongoing agitation launched by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-political).

Farm leader Dashrath Malik said they demand legal guarantee for minimum support price (MSP) on all crops, implementation of the Swaminathan Commission recommendations, debt waiver and reinstatement of the Land Acquisition Act, 2013.

Balwan Lohan, another farm leader, sought justice for Lakhimpur Kheri violence victims, withdrawal of cases registered against the farmers during year-long farm stir in 2021 and India’s exit from the WTO.

Other farm activists demanded Rs 10,000 monthly pension for farmers and farm labourers and reforms in the PM Crop Insurance Scheme.
