Farmers from across the district, under the banner of the Haryana Kisan Manch, staged a protest at the Irrigation Department office from 10 am to 5 pm, demanding a smooth supply of canal water. Led by the state president of Haryana Kisan Manch, Gurdeep Singh Jhiri, a delegation met officials. However, due to the absence of the department's SE, the farmers were assured that the issue would be resolved by March 26.

The farmers issued a warning that if the problem was not resolved by then, they would once again stage a protest at the Irrigation Department office. Famrer leader Gurdeep Singh Jhiri emphasised that the farmers were not receiving canal water for irrigation as per the schedule, leading to disruption in sowing and a decrease in crop production. He pointed out that cotton was sown in May and June, a period of high water demand due to the heat, and insufficient water supply would result in poor crop yields and financial losses for the farmers.

Jhiri said that the Haryana Kisan Manch was fighting to ensure that the farmers got their rightful share of water. After the discussion, the officials assured the farmers that the issue would be addressed by March 26, following which the farmers agreed to end the protest. However, they warned that if the problem was not resolved by then, they would be forced to take further action.

Present at the protest were various local farmers and community leaders, including Naib Singh, Sikander Bhinwa, Mander Bhiwan, Sohan Singh, Surjit Begu, Magghar Singh Kurangawali, Jatinder Singh, Jaspal Bappan, Leela Singh Thiraj, Dharampal, Rajendra Beniwal and Jaswant Singh Sukhchain.
