Rohtak, March 3
Seeking compensation for crop loss, farmers of various villages under the banner of the All India Kisan Sabha took out a protest march here today.
Their other demands include the removal of the condition of online application on the government portal for compensation and special girdawari for financial help to those farmers who suffered the crop loss due to the recent hailstorms.
Earlier, the farmers gathered at Mansarovar Park here and discussed the issue of crop loss due to rain fury and hailstorms yesterday. Thereafter, they marched towards the Deputy Commissioner’s camp office.
Sumit Singh, state secretary, All India Kisan Sabha, said the farmers submitted a memorandum to the District Revenue Officer in which they had demanded a compensation of Rs 50,000 per acre for the crop loss.
“A delegation of farmers will meet the Deputy Commissioner on Monday over demands as the crops have been completely damaged due to the hailstorm and the farmers are on the verge of devastation,” he added.
Meanwhile, Anoop Singh Matanhel, state president, All India Kisan Khet Mazdoor Sangathan, has demanded that the state government should open ‘meri fasal mera baura’ and ‘kshatipurti’ portal for providing compensation to the farmers.
