The farmers under the banner of Bhartiya Kisan Union (Shaheed Bhagat Singh) had gathered at the gurdwara before leaving to participate in the protest. However, they were stopped by the police.

Unhappy with the police action, the farmers expressed resentment and accused the police of Haryana and Punjab of working on the directions of the Central government.

The farmers raised slogans against the government and asked the police to arrest them they are not allowed to go to Punjab. Later, the farmers went back and said they would continue to follow the call of Punjab farmers for the next programmes.

Tejveer Singh, spokesman of BKU (SBS), said “We were on our way to participate at a dharna in Shambhu but were stopped by the police in Ambala. The police officials failed to give any satisfactory reply and did nothing when we asked them to arrest us if they don’t allow us to move ahead. Earlier, the farmers were stopped from going to Delhi and today we were stopped from going to Punjab. It suggests that the BJP and AAP governments are working together to stop the farmers.”
