Farmers under the banner of the Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU–Mann) held a meeting on Thursday and threatened that the arrested farmers be released, otherwise they would launch a ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’ on March 11. They have also chalked out a plan for the ‘Delhi march’ on March 14.

State convener Prem Chand Shahpur, said several farmers had been arrested by the police who were heading to join the protest. Cases under serious sections had been registered against them to suppress the voice of the farming community, but the farmers would not bow and continue to fight. Surendra Sangwan, spokesperson, said if the farmers were not released they would court arrest on March 11. “We will take out a march to the DC office on March 11 to court arrest. We are also ready for the march to Delhi on March 14,” he added. Arnu Lather has been appointed as the BKU Karnal block youth president.
