Chandigarh, February 4

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala has stated that the general girdawari of crops had commenced from February 1 and would continue till March 1. During this period, district administrations had been directed to report the damage caused by hailstorm.

Addressing a press conference here today, Dushyant said farmers could also upload reports of losses on the Revenue Department’s e-kshatipurti portal. After receipt of the reports, the farmers will be compensated for their loss, including the crop loss due to hailstorm, he asserted.

The Deputy CM shared that the offices of the financial commissioner revenue (FCR), tehsil and sub-tehsil, would digitise revenue records by March 31 and the records of Kanungo and Patwarkhana would be digitised by the end of this year. Once completed, people would have online access to their land and revenue-related documents with just a click, eliminating the need to manage old paperwork. Expressing happiness over the increasing revenue in the state, Dushyant said in financial year 2019-20, Rs 6,200 crore was collected from stamp duty, while the government had so far collected about Rs 10,000 crore as revenue in this financial year. He announced that from March 1, ‘desi liquor’ would no longer be sold in plastic bottles in the state. This move makes Haryana the first state in the country to take such a decision. — TNS

Takes a dig at Congress

Dushyant Chautala took a dig at the state Congress alleging that it was divided into father-son faction (referring to former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his son Deepender Hooda), SRK faction (referring to Kumari Selja, Randeep Surjewala and Kiran Choudhry) and state Congress incharge Deepak Babaria faction.
