Fatehabad man gets life term for murder

₹1-lakh fine also imposed, to be given to victim’s kin

The Fatehabad District Court on Wednesday sentenced Pyarelal, a resident of Samain village, to life imprisonment for murder. The court also imposed a fine of RS 1 lakh, which will be given to the victim’s family as compensation.

The verdict was delivered by Additional Sessions Judge Tarun Singhal.

The case dates back to March 11, 2020, when complainant Balraj alias Raju lodged an FIR at Sadar Tohana Police Station against Pyarelal and his brother Manoj Kumar under Sections 302 and 34 of the IPC and Sections 25, 54, and 59 of the Arms Act.

Police acted promptly under the supervision of then SHO Surendra Kumar and arrested the accused on January 27, 2020. After a detailed investigation, a chargesheet was filed on May 15, 2020, and presented in court on June 9, 2020.

The prosecution team, led by District Legal Officer Devendra Mittal and government lawyer Dr Narendra Singh, produced medical and post-mortem evidence that secured the conviction.

Superintendent of Police Siddhant Jain hailed the judgment as “a symbol of the strength of the justice system and the dedication of the police.”

He said, “This decision reinforces public faith in the law and sends a strong message that no offender can escape legal consequences.”
