In a significant move, Sudeshi Devi, a Panch from Ward 10 of Dahman village in Bhuna Tehsil, Fatehabad district, has been suspended for illegally occupying the panchayat land. The decision was made by the Deputy Commissioner after an investigation revealed her unauthorised possession of panchayat land.

The complaint was initially filed three years ago by Dharmbir Dahiya, who alleged that Sudesh Devi had illegally occupied land under Khasra No. 228, Murraba No. 71, specifically parts 13/1/2 and 7/1/2, which were meant for common use. The land in question had previously been part of a khali (public use) area.

Following this, a detailed investigation was conducted by the BDPO, DDPO, and Tehsildar, confirming the illegal occupation. Despite being issued a show-cause notice, Sudesh Devi failed to provide any documents to justify her claim on the land.

Dharmbir Dahiya, who had been voicing his concerns for over three years, welcomed the action. He stated, “For years, Sudesh Devi had been cultivating crops on nearly two acres of panchayat land, using her position for personal gain. The truth has finally prevailed.”

Rishabh Singal, the BDPO, confirmed the suspension and stated that the necessary actions would be taken to protect the panchayat land from further encroachments.
