The road, which has been in a poor condition for a long time, has caused significant inconvenience to commuters, with deep potholes becoming serious safety hazards and contributing to accidents.

“The Jhajjar-Bahadurgarh road spans a total length of 28 km. The government has approved funds for its special repair work. Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya, all administrative and approval processes were swiftly completed, paving the way for the start of repairs. A tender of approximately Rs 11.30 crore has been allocated for this project,” said Sumit Kumar, Executive Engineer, Public Works Department (PWD).

Dahiya said the repair work aimed to make the road smoother and safer for commuters, highlighting the urgency of completing the work promptly.

Roads are the backbone of development of any district, and improving the crucial route will ease traffic between Jhajjar and Bahadurgarh, benefiting the general public and businesses.

“PWD officials have been instructed to expedite the work while ensuring that it meets the required quality standards,” Dahiya added.

The DC also directed the department concerned to prepare detailed estimates and project reports for the improvement of other roads in the district.

Emphasising the importance of the route, Dahiya said, “Thousands of commuters — including students, businessmen and travellers — use this route daily. The repairs will make their daily journeys safer and more convenient. Once the repair work is completed, the road will provide smoother and more efficient travel. Officials have been directed to ensure that the work is completed to a high standard and within the stipulated time frame, thereby enhancing transportation facilities for citizens.”

Meanwhile, the DC asserted that positive results were being noted after district authorities executed effective measures to reduce road accidents and improve the traffic situation.

He said road safety remained one of the district administration’s priorities. The DC also talked about a government scheme, under which cashless treatment of up to Rs 1.5 lakh was being provided to individuals injured in road accidents.

The treatment under this scheme was available in hospitals listed under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

The DC instructed officials to raise awareness about the scheme, and urged hospitals to ensure that there was no negligence in treating accident victims.
