Wheat crop on six acres at Joniawas village in the Farukhnagar area was destroyed in a fire Tuesday morning. Besides, 80 sprinkler pipes worth Rs 4 lakh were also gutted.
The cause behind the fire could not be known. The fields belong to two farmers. Villagers managed to stop the fire from spreading and doused it using tube-well water. A fire engine also reached the village and extinguished the flames.
