Firing at Elvish Yadav's house: Gangsters behind the attack and foreign link
More than two dozen bullets were fired outside popular YouTuber Elvish Yadav's residence in Sector 57, Gurugram early Sunday morning. No one was injured in the incident.
What happened
The attack occurred around 5:30 am, when two masked, bike-borne assailants opened fire outside Yadav’s home.
CCTV footage captured one of the shooters leaning over the main gate and firing multiple rounds before fleeing.
Elvish Yadav was not present at the time of the shooting, though family members were inside the house.
Gang behind the attack
A gang calling itself the ‘Bhau Gang’ has claimed responsibility for the shooting.
In social media posts, gangsters Neeraj Faridpuria and Bhau Ritoliya (alias Himanshu Bhau) admitted to carrying out the attack, accusing Yadav of promoting betting apps.
Their warning also targeted other influencers promoting online betting, threatening similar attacks.
Police response
Gurugram Police quickly arrived at the scene, collected forensic evidence, and are scanning CCTV footage from the area.
An FIR is expected to be registered based on the family’s complaint.
Police have not officially verified the gang's social media claims yet.
Family’s statement
Elvish’s father, Ram Avtar Yadav, said: “We heard gunshots around 5:30 am. On checking the CCTV, we saw two people, possibly a third involved. We informed the police, and they started an investigation. Over 15 rounds were fired. We’re very scared.”
The family also confirmed that no threats were received before the incident and that Elvish is currently outside Haryana on work.
Past controversies involving Elvish Yadav
Elvish Yadav has faced multiple legal issues in the past:
Accused in a Noida rave party case involving snake venom; the Supreme Court has stayed proceedings.
Involved in a controversy over using snakes in a music video with singer Fazilpuria.
Was previously involved in a physical altercation with fellow YouTuber Maxtern, though the complaint was later withdrawn.
Was also questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case linked to the snake venom incident.
About the gangsters
Neeraj Faridpuria: Originally from Palwal, Haryana, he has 25 plus criminal cases against him. Arrested in 2012 and sentenced to life in 2015, he was later granted bail and fled to Canada, then the US, where he joined the Bambiha gang and now works with Himanshu Bhau.
Bhau Ritoliya (Himanshu Bhau): A Portugal-based gangster from Ritoli village in Haryana. He is believed to have been involved in the recent firing on singer Fazilpuria in July.
Rao Inderjit Yadav: Based in the US, he is a known associate of Himanshu Bhau. Inderjit has been linked to a recent murder in Rohtak and was also reportedly involved in the Fazilpuria attack.
Investigations are underway. The gang's claims and motive are being probed.
