Two unidentified miscreants today opened fire at an IELTS coaching centre in Kurukshetra. However, no injuries or casualties were reported in this incident.
As per the information available, two persons -- with their faces covered -- came outside the IELTS centre on a two-wheeler and fired four times, shattering the glass panes of the centre. Then, they fled away from the spot.
After getting information, police officials reached the spot and started an investigation. A case has been registered at the Thanesar City police station. The reason behind the firing was yet to be disclosed.
Kurukshetra police spokesman said a case has been registered on the basis of the complaint received and the CIA-1 and CIA-2 units, along with police teams, have been working on the case.
Meanwhile, Congress Thanesar MLA Ashok Arora also reached the IELTS centre to inquire about the incident and criticised the state government for the poor law and order situation. He said, “Despite being the CM City, Kurukshetra has been witnessing firing incidents on a regular basis. It appears that there is no fear left in the criminals. The Chief Minister should take some action to maintain the law and order situation.”
