Firing on music firm office: Two arrested
Karnal police arrest one from Mohali, while Gurugram STF arrest shooter
The Karnal police and Gurugram STF have made significant progress in connection with the multiple firing incident that took place at the office of a music company at Alpha City recently. The Karnal police arrested a person from Mohali, while Gurugram STF arrested a shooter allegedly involved in this case. The Karnal police have also identified three other shooters and teams are working to arrest them.
Confirming the arrest, DSP Rajiv Kumar said a team of the CIA-1, Karnal, arrested Fateh Chehal, a resident of Mohali, on Saturday, who is a producer in the music industry. He has been identified as one of the key accused in this attack. He has been remanded to two days’ police custody for further interrogation.
Preliminary inquiry suggests that the firing incident is related to a monetary dispute between different parties associated with the music business. The DSP said dispute was related to a disagreement over a business deal.
Meanwhile, a shooter from Rohtak involved in this case has also been arrested by the Gurugram STF in a separate case. During questioning, his involvement in the Alpha City firing incident came to light. The shooter has been remanded to seven days’ police custody in Gurugram. “We will take him on a production warrant for investigation in our case,” said DSP Rajiv Kumar.
He further said the police have identified three other shooters involved in the incident, and teams have been deployed to trace and apprehend them at the earliest. “The investigation is going on,” the DSP added.
The incident took place at around 4.30 am on October 29, when four unidentified assailants arrived on two motorcycles and opened indiscriminate fire at the office building of a prominent music company at Alpha City. The attackers reportedly fired over 30 rounds before fleeing the scene. Though no casualties were reported, the incident created panic in the area and caused significant damage to property.
Following the incident, Simranjeet Singh, a representative of the company, lodged a complaint, on the basis of which the police registered a case under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 25 of the Arms Act at the Karnal police station.
Soon after the firing, a social media post went viral, suggesting that the attack was linked to a monetary dispute involving a gangster connected to the music business.
