The police team, along with a forensic team, reached the spot. Due to the mutilated condition of the body, it could not be ascertained how she died. Investigation was started and the body was kept in the mortuary for identification. Today, her family came to the Bhondsi police station and later identified the body.

Geeta Devi, the victim’s mother, said Muskan had gone to her friend’s house in Govardhan Kunj in Bhondsi few days ago in search of a job. Her friend said Muskan had left his house on the night of August 10 and was missing since then.

“The body was identified only after the family members arrived on Wednesday. The cause behind the murder will be clear in the postmortem report. An FIR of murder has been registered and further probe is underway,” said SHO Naresh Kumar. — OC
