Gurugram: The Gurugram police arrested five accused in connection with a clash that had broken out between two groups of Dak Kanwariyas in a dispute over playing music on Friday. The accused are residents of Prem Nagar colony. Six Kanwariyas were injured in the clash. The two groups involved hit one another with sticks and pelted stones. Two vehicles were also damaged in the altercation. An FIR was registered at the Sector 14 police station. TNS
Cow vigilante dies in hospital
Gurugram: Cow vigilante Sonu Sarpanch died in Medanta hospital here last night. He was shot on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Mahu-Chopta village while cow vigilantes were chasing a vehicle of cattle smugglers. The smugglers’ pick-up jeep overturned on the road. After this, the cow smugglers attempted to flee, and one of them was caught by the cow vigilantes. When Sonu apprehended another smuggler, the remaining smugglers opened fire, and Sonu was critically injured after being shot in the stomach. TNS
Woman’s body found in canal
Gurugram: The body of a woman was found in a dry canal in Farrukhnagar area on Monday morning. The police sent the body to the mortuary and are trying to identify it. A senior police official said the clothes of the woman were found near the body. The woman could not be identified. Further probe was underway, he added. TNS
