Palwal, August 6
A taxi driver was allegedly abducted, disrobed and thrashed by five persons in Palwal on Monday. The police have registered a case, but no arrests have been made so far.
In his complaint, the victim, Tejvir, said he was abducted by five men, who bundled him into their car at gunpoint. He said they then took him to a jungle, and disrobed and thrashed him with sticks. They also urinated on his face before holding him captive in a house near Mandkola village for several hours.
He said they also snatched cash amounting to Rs 10,000, following which they fled the spot. Though the main reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, an old rivalry could be the cause as the accused have been identified by the victim.
A police official said a case was registered against the accused, adding that the efforts were on to arrest them at the earliest.
