Five booked for giving fake joining letters for govt jobs
The Ambala police have registered a case against five men for allegedly duping people on the promise of providing government jobs and giving fake joining letters.
A case has been registered against Raj Singh, Sagar Malik, Roshan Singh, Nilesh Kumar and Happy.
In his complaint to the police, Suresh Kumar, a resident of Panipat, stated that his son Rakesh along with his friend Rahul had gone to Ambala for an interview for recruitment in the Army where they came in contact with Sagar Malik, and Nilesh Kumar and they claimed that they could get government jobs arranged for them.
“The accused claimed that there are jobs of computer operator at the PGI, Chandigarh, and due to Covid, there are no physical interviews and there will be direct recruitments. The accused had sought Rs 15 lakh each for both youth of which Rs 12 lakh each were to be given in advance and Rs 3 lakh each after getting the jobs. In April 2021, the money and documents were handed over to the accused and they promised to give the joining letters in a week,” he alleged.
A few days later, the accused handed over the joining letter of the PGI, Chandigarh, and said the training would begin from May 2021. But when both Rakesh and Rahul went to the PGI, Chandigarh, for joining, they came to know that joining letters were fake. When confronted, the accused claimed that the joining letters were genuine, but later claimed that the recruitment was cancelled and refunded Rs 1 lakh. They promised to return the remaining amount as well, but no money was refunded later.
A case has been registered under cheating charges at the Panjokhra police station.
