The Ambala police have arrested five persons in the murder case of BSP leader Harbilas Rajjumajra, who was killed in Naraingarh on Friday night. The arrested suspects include Arun, Manish, Ajay, Sahil and a woman, all of whom have been linked to the conspiracy behind the murder. The suspects were presented in a court, where the woman was sent to judicial custody while the others were remanded in two days of police custody.
Despite these arrests, the shooters involved in the attack, along with the prime accused Vainket Garg, are still at large.
Harbilas Rajjumajra and his friend Puneet Dang were shot on Friday evening. Another individual, Gugal Pandit, narrowly escaped the attack. Preliminary investigations suggest that a land and monetary dispute could be the motive behind the shooting.
Superintendent of Police Ambala Surinder Singh Bhoria said, “Five persons have been arrested for their involvement in the conspiracy. The matter is under investigation and efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining suspects. The exact motive behind the firing incident and the involvement of others will be clarified soon.”
