Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Vijay Kumar on Friday said every person is born with a role or ‘swadharma’, and distancing oneself from it leads to ego and loss of peace. Speaking during the opening day of the International Geeta Mahotsav-2025 seminar at the university auditorium, he said society attains harmony when individuals—teachers, doctors, officers and children—perform their duties sincerely.
Earlier, the chief guest and dignitaries visited an exhibition set up by the Haryana Information, Public Relations and Languages Department. Speakers highlighted the relevance of the Bhagavad Geeta in everyday life, while students presented Geeta-based cultural performances. Children from Shri Ram New Sutluj School opened the event with Vande Mataram.
Prof Kumar said that by following the path shown in the Geeta and maintaining discipline of mind, one could achieve great success. He urged students to adopt good values and appreciated the Radha-Krishna performances.
Cultural presentations included a Radha-Krishna dance, Geeta recitation by students of Chattargarh Patti Primary School, Krishna Leela by SS Jain Kanya School and a devotional piece by Maharaja Agrasain School.
