Former MLA Hariram Valmiki passed away at the age of 76 on Sunday night at his residence in Jhajjar city following a brief illness.
Valmiki was elected as an MLA from Jhajjar (Reserve) as a Congress candidate in the 2005 Assembly elections. However, he was not fielded by the party in the subsequent election.
His final rites were performed on Monday afternoon. The cremation was attended by several political leaders, including senior Congress leader and former Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal, who paid floral tributes and remembered Valmiki’s contributions to public life.
