Former minister Grover launches public-contact campaign in Rohtak

Days after announcing that he would not contest the upcoming Assembly poll, former minister and senior BJP leader Manish Grover has launched a public-contact campaign in the run-up to the elections to encourage the party’s booth-level workers and meet the electors.

Managed to win only once
Grover has been the BJP’s face in the Rohtak Assembly segment in the past five Assembly polls. He managed to win only once but has been an influential leader of the party in Rohtak in the past decade. He is a Khattar loyalist and was Cooperative Minister in the first term of the Khattar regime
Grover, on Monday visited Krishna Colony and Gurucharan Pura in the city to see the preperations being made by workers for the Assembly poll. He also met prominent people residing in the area, said Manoj Makkar, a local BJP leader.
Speaking on the occasion, the Grover said being a dedicated soldier of the BJP, it was his prime responsibility to ensure the party’s victory in the Rohtak Assembly segment as he served here as a councillor, MLA and a minister.
“Rohtak is my ‘karma bhoomi’, the BJP is in my blood and the supporters are my capital. I have dedicated 50 years to the party, which too, in return has given me immense love and support by elevating me from being an Municipal Councillor to MLA and then a minister in the state. I will work for the BJP till my last breath,” said Grover.
He claimed that the public contact campaign would continue up to the Assembly poll and all polling booths in Rohtak city would be covered during the period.
Some days ago, Grover had astonished everyone by announcing that neither he nor his family members would contest the upcoming Assembly elections but would remain active in politics and work towards strengthening the organisational structure of the party. The development had come at a time when he was holding meetings with prominent residents of the city.

Notably, Grover has been the BJP’s face in the Rohtak Assembly segment in the past five Assembly polls. However, he managed to win only once but has been an influential leader of the party in Rohtak district in the past decade as he is a staunch Khattar loyalist. Grover was Cooperative Minister in the first term of the Khattar regime.
