In a blow to the JJP, former Rania MLA Krishan Kamboj today announced his resignation from the party. He accused the JJP leadership of neglecting the Rania constituency and its workers, despite his repeated appeals to the party high command.
At a press conference, Kamboj said the development of Rania was entrusted to a single individual, who, instead of promoting growth, contributed to the area’s decline. He criticised the lack of attention given to the needs of Rania over the past decade, blaming both the local MLA and the government.
Kamboj highlighted key issues that were ignored, including the demand for subdivision status for Rania, providing canal water to residents, constructing an e-library for unemployed youth, and repairing urban and rural roads. He lamented that only administrative actions like suspensions and transfers were carried out, with no real progress made.
