Bhagat Phool Singh Women’s University, Khanpur Kalan, Vice-Chancellor Sudesh has said alumni are the invaluable heritage of any institution.

The Alumni Association was a powerful platform to bring together alumni, she added. She was addressing Smriti Kumbh, the annual alumni meet of the college, on Saturday.

As the chief guest, she officially inaugurated the programme. On the occasion, she paid homage to Bhagat Phool Singh and Subhashini Devi.

She said the joy on the faces of the alumni present at the auditorium was heart-warming. Today, active participation of women was evident in every field, including science and technology, she added.

The Vice-Chancellor said the university was not an ordinary institution, but the land of an ascetic.

For its educational development, former students must share their suggestions and ideas, she added.

The programme was organised under the joint aegis of the Alumni Association, the Management Department and the Commerce Department of the university. Alumni Association Secretary Dr Kiran Kalkal and Registrar Dr Shivalik Yadav were the special guests at the event.

Dr Yadav exhorted alumni to stay connected with the institution regardless of where they lived.

On this occasion, various cultural programmes presented by the students captivated the audience.

While the entire auditorium danced to the beats of Haryanvi music and Punjabi giddha, memories of student life resonated with the alumni. On this occasion, alumni of the Ayurveda Department recently selected for the post of Ayurveda Medical Officer were honoured.

Dean (Student Welfare) Shweta Singh, Proctor Ipsita Bansal, Director (Public Relations) Lt Col (Dr) Anil Balhara, Deans, Heads of Departments, Professors, non-teaching staff, researchers and students were present at the event.
