Speaking on the occasion, former minister Aseem Goel congratulated residents and the members of the House of the Municipal Corporation, and said the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Saini had been ensuring equal development of all districts.

“The rural and urban areas of Ambala City Assembly Constituency have been getting regular funds for development works. Earlier, the foundation stones for the projects worth around Rs 70 crore were laid, a majority of the projects which are under progress, and directions have been issued to the Municipal Corporation officials to start the pending projects too so that the projects can be dedicated to the public soon. The work on the projects for which the foundation stones were laid will begin in 10 days. The officials have also been told to ensure that the projects are completed within their stipulated time-frame, and any delay in completion of the projects will not be tolerated”, he added.

Warning the corporation officials, the former minister said he would review the ongoing and pending projects after 10 days, after returning from Bihar, and the officials should be prepared. “The officials have 10 days to put everything in place, because after coming back from Bihar, we will start ‘operation corporation’ and the officials will feel the heat and face action for the delayed projects.” Aseem Goel said.

The senior BJP leader, Goel also said the Chief Minister was closely monitoring the IMT (industrial model township) project, to be established in Ambala, because he had special attachment for Ambala. The establishment of the IMT will strengthen Ambala in terms of development and will also provide employment opportunities to the youth.

The development works for which the former Minister of State laid the foundation stone included construction of streets, drains, pipelines for rainwater drainage, construction of toilets, construction of parking facilities, laying of RCC pipelines in the streets, and other development works.

Aseem Goel said to improve sanitary conditions, electric vehicles had been purchased by the Municipal Corporation and it would also help in reducing the pollution in the city.

During his speech, the former Minister also targeted some BJP leaders and said false allegations were levelled on him for stopping the developmental works while he had been striving for Ambala’s development. Though a section of leaders is in the party, they are out of the league. People of Ambala are well aware of the ground situation.

He also congratulated everyone on Haryana Day, saying that Haryana had entered its 60th year and was progressing towards development and prosperity. On the occasion, he welcomed newly elected chairperson of Ambala Club, Sanjay Sethi, who left the Congress party and joined the BJP on Sunday.
