The accused have been identified as Shivam Panwar (26), resident of Bahalgarh village in Sonepat; Mohammad Imran (21) of Delhi, Ravi Upadhyay (26) and Kaji Mohammad (26), all natives of Uttar Pradesh.

An FIR was registered on the complaint of Lobin Kumar, a resident of Rewari, on June 16, at Sector 50 police station. He told the police that he came across an online advertisement for the sale of a car and contacted the number given in the advertisement on June 10.

“The man told me his name was Shivam Panwar and I went to meet him at Isco Spaze IT Park on June 10. When I reached the meeting spot, two men — Rohit Shah and Ravi — met me. They told me they had talked to Shivam and had come to take the token money,” Kumar said.

“On June 16, I met Shivam in his office at Isco IT Spaze Park and gave him Rs 3 lakh cash and transferred Rs 55,000 in their bank account. He then asked me to wait while he got the owner’s signature on the sale letter. Shivam did not return and switched off his phone. I knew I was duped,” he added.
