Four held for murder of mason

The police have arrested four individuals, including a woman, in connection with the murder of Raj Kumar, a mason from Jagadhri. The arrested suspects have been identified as Rahul from Shanti Colony, his wife Rekha alias Tripti, his brother-in-law Bunty and his friend Pramod from Gulab Nagar Colony, Jagadhri. The accused were produced before a court in Jagadhri, where they were sent to judicial custody.

Jagadhri SHO Rajpal informed the media that Raj Kumar, 46, a resident of Shanti Colony, worked as a mason, and Rahul, who lived in the same colony, worked as a labourer with him. On Sunday evening, Raj Kumar went to Rahul’s house to collect his daily wages, which led to a dispute. According to the SHO, Rahul allegedly killed Raj Kumar by striking him on the head with a liquor bottle during the altercation.

After the murder, Rahul, with the help of his friend Pramod from Gulab Nagar Colony, transported Raj Kumar’s body to a spot near Kharwan village. The incident, including the transportation of the body on a bike, was captured on a CCTV camera in the colony.

At Rahul’s house, his wife Rekha alias Tripti and his brother-in-law Bunty are said to have destroyed evidence related to the crime.
