According to a complaint filed by Probationer Sub-Inspector (PSI) Sumit Kumar, head of Palam Vilam crime unit, he received an information on Wednesday that the four suspects, who were carrying weapons, were on their way to Dharuhera in a van to commit a crime. Upon receiving the information, he informed Inspector Vishw Gaurav, head of Sector 39 crime unit, about it. Following this, police teams placed barricades on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway.

“It was around 3.50am when we saw the van coming from the Bilaspur side. When the police team signalled the driver to stop, he tried to run away and opened fire on the police team. The driver also tried to take his vehicle from the service lane, but the van was stopped after it got stuck in a drain near the service lane. The driver and his associate came out of the vehicle and opened fire at the officials. In the exchange of fire, our SI was shot at, but he was saved since he wearing a bulletproof jacket. All four accused were nabbed,” PSI Kumar said in his complaint.
