As part of a continuing crackdown on illegal construction, the district administration on Tuesday demolished four unauthorised colonies being developed across 15 acres in Rohtak and Makroli Khurd village.

During the demolition drive, two unauthorised buildings, a boundary wall and a tile road network were razed. The district town planning officials and a police team were present at the site to ensure the operation was carried out smoothly and without any untoward incidents.

Deputy Commissioner Dharmendra Singh cautioned residents against investing their life savings in unauthorised constructions or plots within illegal colonies. “The administration conducts such operations from time to time. No illegal colony or construction will be allowed to thrive,” he said.

District Town Planner Sumandeep also appealed to the public to avoid purchasing plots or investing in colonies being carved out by landowners or dealers without proper approval. “Anyone considering an investment in land or housing should first visit the Town Planning Office during working hours to verify the legal status of the property,” the DTP advised.
