Panipat, February 16

Four persons were killed in three separate road accidents in the district. The police have registered a case against unknown car driver and handed over the bodies to victims’ kin after postmortem examination.

The deceased have been identified as Amit (26) of Bhadar village and Vikas (22) of Khukhrana village of the district. They went to attend a marriage programme at Luhari village on Saturday. They were on the way to their village on a motorcycle on Sunday. As they reached near Sutana village turn, a car hit their motorcycle and they fell down on the road. Commuters rushed them to the general hospital where doctors declared them brought dead.

In another accident on the Panipat-Rohtak highway, Surender of Chhihrana village was killed while Ravi and Devender of the same village sustained injuries. Ramjuari of Chhichrana village said his nephew Surender, Ravi and Devender were on their way to the village. When they reached near Bhaupur village, a car hit Surender’s car due to which their car rammed into a tree. They were rushed to a private hospital where doctor declared Surender brought dead.

In another accident, Brijesh of Bihar died in a mishap in Samalkha on Saturday. Sudama of Champaran village in his complaint to the police said he along with his nephew Brijesh reached near Shiv Dharam Kanta, when a motorcycle hit them due to which his nephew died on the spot.
