Four miscreants arrested by CIA-1 unit in separate cases
The CIA-1 unit of the Kurukshetra police has arrested four miscreants involved in separate theft and loot cases in the district.
The accused were involved in stealing copper wires of tubewells and looting people on highways.
As per the Kurukshetra police spokesman, the CIA-1 unit has arrested two persons for allegedly stealing copper wire from electric motors of tubewells. The accused have been identified as Ravi and Rakesh, residents of Kurukshetra. They both were involved in over 140 cases of stealing motor wires in Kurukshetra and Karnal districts.
The CIA-1 unit in-charge Surinder Singh informed that a woman of Dhurala village in her complaint at the Jhansa police station had stated that some miscreants had stolen wire of her tubewell on September 25, last year. The case was handed over to the CIA-1 unit after initial investigation by the Jhansa police. On January 5, both accused were arrested and they confessed their involvement in 97 thefts in Kurukshetra and 45 in Karnal district. Further investigation is on.
In another catch, the CIA-1 unit has arrested two burglars for looting people on highways. The accused were identified as Kamaldeep and Deepak, residents of Ambala.
The CIA-1 unit in-charge, Surinder Singh, informed that on December 22, last year, Raju Lal, a resident of Rajasthan, in his complaint at the Shahabad police station stated that he and Madan Lal worked as drivers for a private firm. On December 14, unidentified miscreants robbed them at knife point when they were standing near their truck in Shahabad. The miscreants had snatched their mobiles, purse, documents and Rs 13,000. Later, they used Raju Lal’ ATM to withdraw Rs 1 lakh and bought a mobile phone.
On December 24, they attacked a gas cylinder delivery man near Thaska Ali village and snatched Rs 18,740 and two mobiles. On December 25, they were involved in a loot at a SBI Sewa Kendra in Patiala. Even in November, they had snatched mobiles from two persons in Shahabad. On January 5, they were arrested and the amount of loot and other valuables will be recovered during their remand. Kamaldeep is a history sheeter, and there are nearly seven cases of loot and dacoity against him at different police stations in Ambala and a case under the NDPS Act in Kurukshetra, the CIA-1 in-charge said.
