Hisar, April 19
Four persons were asphyxiated to death when they descended in a 50-feet well for maintenance work in a sewerage treatment plant in Buddakhera village of Uklana region in the district today.
The deceased have been identified as Surender, 28, Mahender, 25, Rakesh, 26, and Rahul, 27. District administration reached the spot and efforts are being made to take the bodies out. National Disaster Response Force has also been informed.
According to information, Surender had gone down in the well to check electric motor. Rahul, too, descended along with him. When both of them did not come out after a while, Mahender and Rakesh, too, went inside to see what had happened to them. All of them reportedly inhaled some poisonous gas and died in the well.
The district spokesperson informed that deputy commissioner Dr Priyanka Soni has ordered magisterial inquiry into the incident. The DC has also formed a committee headed by the SDM in the case.
