Four vehicles involved in illegal mining seized
In an ongoing effort to curb illegal mining and unlawful transportation of minerals, a joint district team conducted an intensive vehicle checking campaign over the past three days, leading to the seizure of four vehicles.
"During the campaign, the team checked around 400 vehicles at various key points in the district and seized four vehicles involved in the illegal transportation of mining materials. A fine of Rs 10.70 lakh has been imposed on these vehicles," said Deputy Commissioner Vivek Bharti.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) emphasised that the district administration had issued clear instructions to all officials to take strict action against illegal mineral transportation.
"If any mineral transport vehicle is found without an e-way bill, it will be immediately seized and legal action will be initiated as per the regulations," he stated.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicating illegal mining activities.
"The state government and district administration are committed to ensuring that illegal mining and mineral transport will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Such operations will continue to crack down on these unlawful activities," Bharti added.
District Mining Engineer Rajesh Kumar revealed that the campaign was carried out at night from Friday to Sunday, focusing on major routes used for mineral transportation.
"During the campaign, three tractor-trailers and one dumper, which were illegally transporting stones and dust, were seized. The drivers failed to present any bills for the transported minerals. Consequently, a fine of Rs 10.70 lakh was imposed on them. All these vehicles were found to be illegally transporting minerals from Rajasthan," he said.
