Rohtak/Gurugram, March 1

Darshana Devi, mother of Gurugram-based trader Sachin Goda, who was shot dead in Rohtak last night, has stated that jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi had demanded money from Sachin nearly eight months ago and had threatened him with dire consequences if he failed to do so.

Kin claim Sachin was scrap dealer

Mystery shrouds the identity of Sachin Goda as his family and local sources maintain that Sachin was a scrap dealer, while those who have claimed responsibility for his murder say that he was a bookie.

“But everything is normal now,” said Sachin’s mother, who is admitted to a private hospital in Gurugram.

As per family sources, she does not know about her son’s death and has been made to believe that he is undergoing treatment at another hospital.

“She is praying for the well-being of her son,” said a family member.

Mystery shrouds the identity of Sachin as his family and local sources maintain that Sachin was a scrap dealer, while those who have claimed responsibility for his murder say that he was a bookie.

“He considered himself the biggest bookie of Delhi... Whoever ignores our phone call will get the same response...It may take time, but there is no forgiveness,” says Rohit Godara, who identifies himself as a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldy Brar gang, in a social media post.

Meanwhile, as per police sources, Sachin, along with eight others, was arrested in connection with betting during an international cricket match, at a village in Rohtak district in October, 2023.

Sachin and his family stayed at their home in Arjun Nagar locality of Gurugram. He was the only brother of three sisters. His ancestral business was scrap trading and owned two shops. At present, the shops have been rented out.

His friend Deepak said Sachin’s partner was also shot in a similar manner a few years ago.
