Gas company’s negligence damages sewerage system, case filed in Sirsa
In Sirsa city, the Public Health Department has filed a case against a private gas company for damaging the sewerage system while laying a high-pressure gas pipeline. The company allegedly passed the pipeline through sewer manholes, which could lead to serious consequences.
As per the complaint by Junior Engineer (JE) Gurpreet Singh, the problem was found at three locations: in front of Soni Dharamshala, near Garg Dharmkanta, and close to Ganpati Tent House on Begu Road.
The sewer manhole walls were damaged and leaking, causing blockages in the drainage system. This has created major problems for residents, increasing the risk of accidents and property damage.
The authorities had already informed the gas company about the issue, expecting them to take corrective action. However, the company failed to do so, leading to further damage to government property.
The violation falls under the Prevention of Damage to Public Property (PDPP) Act, and the police have now registered a case and started an investigation.
With the sewerage system affected, the nearby areas are facing severe drainage problems, causing inconvenience to the public. If not fixed soon, the situation could worsen, leading to potential health hazards and accidents. The police and Public Health Department are now working to ensure proper action is taken against the company, holding them accountable for their negligence.
